Decision framework library
The second major feature in FounderLens is the decision framework library. It's been running with a subset of beta founders for the past two weeks. Here's what it does.
The problem it solves
Founders face a set of decisions that are high-stakes, non-recurring, and deeply context-dependent. Pricing. Hiring. Whether and when to raise. These are decisions where generic advice is abundant and useful guidance is rare.
The framework library takes the best mental models for each decision type and makes them work on your actual situation.
How it works
Each framework is a structured walkthrough. You start by answering a few questions — and most of the answers are already prefilled from your metrics. Runway, growth rate, burn — FounderLens already knows these numbers.
The framework surfaces the key variables, applies the relevant benchmarks, and gives you a recommendation with the reasoning shown. Not a generic "it depends." An actual position, with the logic visible so you can argue with it.
Frameworks in the current library
Pricing
- Should you raise prices? (based on NRR, churn, and willingness-to-pay signals)
- How to think about packaging and tiers
- When value-based pricing is and isn't the right call
Hiring
- Can you afford your next hire? (default-alive stress test with the new burn)
- Founder vs operator hire — when each is right
- The build vs buy judgment at early stage
Fundraising
- Are you ready to raise? (traction, team, and timing checklist)
- SAFE vs priced round — the tradeoffs at your stage
- When to wait, when to go
What beta founders have said
"The pricing framework alone paid for itself. I'd been guessing for a year — it took twenty minutes to get conviction." — Founder in the beta
The frameworks aren't magic. But they're considerably better than starting from a blank page at midnight.
What's coming next
The founder copilot — a context-aware AI that's already read your numbers and frameworks, so when a question comes up you can just ask it directly. In beta testing now.
